Our Friends at the Fextralife Team Unveil a New Home for Custom Content
The modding landscape is more larger or as in demand as it is today. Modders who crafted new mechanics for classics such as Skyrim and Baldur’s Gate III have secured significant positions in gaming. Entire games were developed on the backs of others. Someone even figured out how to make Silksong slightly less challenging.
Certainly, in this era, everything appears achievable with an idea, coding skills, and a bit of initiative. Hence, it’s understandable that more of the industry is looking to support that continuously expanding modification scene, and that our pals at Fextralife are getting in on the action. This week, the wiki site revealed it would expand its offerings with FXMods, a “brand-new gaming mod platform created for users who desire a quick, complimentary, and unlimited modifications to enhance their beloved releases.
FXMods guarantees to be a cost-free service with no download speed throttling, no queue, and connection to the larger Fextralife wiki system, which aims to allow developers to gain more exposure as users encounter their mods alongside additional resources.
What is the vision for this new platform? I questioned Matt Hook from Fextralife, who has been knee-deep in shepherding the launch.
“What we're doing here is really trying to prioritize the user experience,” Hook explains. “We want a superb interaction for the gaming community to be able to obtain custom content promptly and conveniently, and we want to reward mod creators and active users with acknowledgment and rewards.”
